MEOW… It’s the Purrfectly Gift-tastic Blog Hop!

PurrfectlyGiftasticCBH_200x300Good morning and welcome to the Purrfectly Gift-tastic Blog Hop, brought to you by the amazing folks over at the Blog Hop Spot!  It’s going to be a lot of fun and a celebration of a variety of authors to get you in the holiday spirit.  I thought I’d begin by telling you a bit about what you can WIN on my stop this time!  I know, that’s what you really wanted to hear anyway.  We talk a good game about wanting to hear about the writer’s process or interviews with the characters, but what we really love is the free stuff.  Go ahead, be honest.  Santa is watching.  So let’s get to it!

I’m keeping it simple this time.  No rafflecopters, all you have to do is follow the blog and leave a comment.  That’s it, folks!  Leave me a comment and follow the blog and you will be entered to win a pdf copy of either Strange Bedfellows: Three to Tango or Masquerade.  Both are hot little menage pieces that are just the thing to get your gears grindin’.  I’ll be choosing 3 winners!

Also, while you’re here, you can scroll down and click on my SCRUMPTIOUS St. Nick to enter the Ho-Ho-Holiday Giveaway, where you can win all kinds of stuff from myself and other authors!  There IS a rafflecopter involved there, though.

Since you’re going to have to choose between them, I’m going to leave you with blurbs of both Three to Tango and Masquerade so you can go ahead and start daydreaming.  And I don’t mean about sugarplums….

Wicked After Dark: Blurb-a-palooza!

Click me to hop to the next blog!

Well hey there kids!  I’ve decided today to give you some blurbs to whet your appetite and let you know a little about me and what I do.  My fiction has been called a bit unusual by some.  I never liked romance as a younger woman because I always felt that the stories were so sicky-sweet, too good to be true.  I just couldn’t relate to the characters, but I did like the hot-blooded romance aspet of it.  So when I started writing, I was determined to write the kind of romance that I’d like to read.  One that isn’t sicky sweet and unbelievable, but one with imperfect heroines and dangerous heroes.  I’ve always loved anything paranormal and spooky, so paranormal romance seemed the way to go.  Of course I couldn’t just stop there– I had to make sure that the story was laced with explicit scenes of really hot monkey-lovin’.  Cuz well… that’s the most fun to write.  So I’m going to give you an offering of some of my darkest paranormal romances and you can decide for yourself.

Strange Bedfellows:  Three to Tango

It’s Beach Season!

Aaaah…. the humid air of a Carolina spring.  The only difference between a Carolina spring and a Carolina summer is the rain.  It’s only mid-April and already the temperatures are climbing into the 90s!  That can only mean one thing– it’s time for the beach!  Long days of lounging on the sand, watching the waves and sipping a tall fruity drink  under a garishly colored umbrella.  Of course if you’re like me, you’ve always got a good book in your beach bag.  So seeing as how I never do much promotion, I thought I’d just give a run-down of my releases.  Just to give you some ideas for loading up your Kindle.  I promise they won’t disappoint!

Available NOW from Rebel Ink Press!

Beast of Burden:  Sascha has been a slave in the village of Kaspar for most of her life.  Unappreciated and alone, she lives out her days toiling away and putting up with constant torment.  When her kind master goes off to the marketplace in a neighboring town, he offers to bring her a gift.  All she asks is for a single, red rose.  Little does she know that the rose will cast her out into the service of the beastly Lord Marek.  Rumored to be a scarred and cruel man, Cianan Marek has been searching for a kindred soul.  His life as a warrior came to an abrupt end when he was attacked by werewolves in the Outlands.  Bitter and alone, he’s been hiding a terrible secret since returning to Kaspar as Lord Governor.  In this adult retelling of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, Sascha and Cianan learn the power of destiny and that some beasts lurk in the most unlikely of places.  This  one is my newest release and I must say— it’s a hot little number.

“Dollface”: “Dollface” is the story of Caroline, a plain Jane, small town Southern girl who just happens to be a funeral home cosmetian. Everyone in town likes Caroline, though they’ve always felt that there was something not quite right about her. For years Caroline has pined in silence for the funeral director’s son, Scott Bauer. Scott has always been kind, but never returned her affections. Her world comes tumbling down when she discovers that Scott is to be married and will leave her forever. She can’t let that happen and will go to unnatural lengths to keep him. The story has a bit of graphic violence and alludes somewhat to necrophilia, mostly in the style of Faulkner’s “A Rose for Emily.”  This one’s straight horror, so there’s no hot sex.  But the anti-heroine, Caroline, is genuinely creepy!

“Masquerade”:  “What’s your fantasy?”  Blythe McLachlan had the perfect life until the night he said those three little words that could make or break a relationship.  When Blythe tells her husband about her fantasy of a hot menage, he’s less than pleased.  But when he drops her off at a mysterious masquerade ball, she finds that the boundaries of love can be crossed and rules are made to be broken.  This short story has been described as a smouldering piece of Heaven that’s sure to fog up your iPad screen…

“Second Skin”:  When Catherine Spencer meets the seductive Jack Leannan at her company dinner party, she could never have imagined how fast she’d fall for him. He’s everything her husband isn’t—older, confident, and highly sexual. He lures her under his spell with promises of passion beyond her wildest dreams, and she finds herself ready to give up everything. Wow!  I can’t believe I have that many releases to shamelessly plug!  And coming soon, I’ll be releasing the first in a BRAND NEW SERIES!  I can’t say much about it just now, but it’s my first foray into the world of self-publishing.  I thought I’d give it a try and see what happens.  The idea is to release some “quickies” that will most likely be sold in the $0.99- $1.99 range.  Each story is an erotic paranormal romance that revolves around this strange little place called “The Oubliette.”  So be on the lookout for those!
Finally, I’d really like to thank all of you that have been my faithful readers both of my books and my blogs.  It feels so good to know that there are folks out there that appreciate what you do.  Thanks folks!!  I won’t forget you when I become rich and famous… hehe….

Playlistism: Valentine’s Edition

You know me, I LOVE a music post.  And what better time to have a music post than on Valentine’s Day?  I warn you, before I go on: my idea of a love song may be extremely odd to some of you.

1.  Sweet Child o’ Mine– Guns N’ Roses :  The lyrics of this song are beautiful.  Even if Axel Rose is a crazy person.

2.  Love You to Death– Type O Negative:  I have a little fantasy that this song will be dedicated to me everywhere I go.  It’s deliciously dark and exceptionally romantic.

3.  So Far Away– Dire Straits:  This is a perfectly melancholy love song.  It’s about loving someone long-distance.

4.  What Part of Forever– CeeLo Green: This song is one of the only things about Twilight that doesn’t suck.  It’s upbeat and sticky.  Once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head.  But the lyrics are so sweet and embody those feelings of undying love one gets just as a relationship starts to blossom.

5.  Come What May– Ewan McGregor:  I don’t think I even have to explain this one. Ladies… am I right?

Vampires and Valentines

I want a vampire valentine.

No sparkling.  No brooding.  No perfectly conditioned hair, but a true vampire valentine.  I want a vampire who is in love with the one thing I have to offer that is more precious than anything– blood.  I want a vampire who isn’t afraid to be who he is.  He drinks blood.  From humans.  And he isn’t sorry about it.  He doesn’t go out in the day because he’ll burst into flames.  He doesn’t have a fireplace because he’s afraid that he’ll burn.  He lives in a dark, damp castle, not an ultra-modern abode.  He has a funny accent and razor sharp teeth.  He can fly, turn to mist and control the creatures of the night.  He never drinks… wine.  He’s a real, honest to God, vampire valentine.

Give me Count Vlad, David, Jerry, Varney and Nosferatu.  They may not have perfect hair, but they still have their balls.  Much  like the star of my current WIP, Seth.  Seth is a vampire that dates back to the pharoahs.  He’s in love with his mate, but make no mistake– when he sees you in an alley, you’re just a cheeseburger.

Willow tensed at his words and he pulled her to him.  “The pain lasts only a moment,” he whispered, his lips moving softly against the puckered skin of her nipple before drawing it into his mouth.  He suckled gently at first, worrying it to a swollen bud until she gasped.  Only then did he prick the edge of the areola with his teeth.  The wound was miniscule and she barely noticed the sting until the tiny pearl of blood appeared.  Pulling back from her, he purred deep in his throat upon seeing the deep red rivulets that ran down the side of her breast, following the curving silhouette of her body.  Before it could reach the sheets below, he swooped down and captured the drops with his tongue, then lapping at the precious fluid.  Willow moaned, her heart beating faster.  She knew she should be afraid, but she was lost in the sensations he created.  He kissed his way back up her torso, alighting on her other breast and biting down hard.  She cried out, instinctively trying to push him away.  He grabbed her wrists and pinned them to the pillow behind her head.  She groaned and struggled, but he was much too strong for her.  Closing his mouth over the breast fully, he sucked at the wound until it was bleeding heavily down her front.  She watched with eyes, blurry with tears, as the thickening sanguine fluid stained her skin.  He drank deeply for a few moments, then tore himself away, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.  Strangely, she didn’t feel drained as she’d thought she would.  Only this heaviness that had settled into her extremities, keeping her still as he slid away from her.  “Is that it?” she croaked sleepily, thinking that perhaps she’d been afraid for nothing.

He gave a dark chuckle as he stood up at the side of the bed.  A smear of her blood stood out as a harsh streak of black against his skin.  “Patience, little one,” he purred, pulling at the button on his jeans.  “I’ve only just begun.  Such a delicious delicacy should be savored, not devoured in one sitting.”  She shuddered visibly and he chuckled again, pushing the restricting fabric over his narrow hips and down until he stood before her, a vision of male perfection.  His body seemed to be carved of stone, every muscle standing out in harsh relief under his skin.  The bones of his pelvis crossed over his hips, drawing her eye down to his cock which stood out impressively, giving away his own lust.  Willow smiled, feeling somewhat empowered by this show of arousal.  She wanted to sit up and go to him, but her body was so heavy.  She felt as if he’d restrained her, but there were no bonds.  Seth threw his head back, his black hair spilling over his shoulders as he inhaled her scent on the air.  “Fucking hell, Willow,” he sighed.  “Your scent… so much fear, so much desire… it’s like a drug.”  He climbed back into the bed, kneeling between her outstretched legs.  “I fear that once I start, I won’t be able to stop,” he murmured, grasping the waistband of the pants she wore. With a growl he pulled at them until they were ripped completely open and he could jerk them down her legs.  “A thousand years of practice and you have me behaving like a fledgling.”

“I’m… I’m sorry…” she stammered, biting her lip as his fingers brushed her thighs.

He leaned over her, kissing just below her navel and swirling his tongue around it.  “You’re not sorry,” he replied, opening his mouth wider and grazing the warm skin with his teeth, opening another bloody gash.  It dribbled slowly down, pooling in the crease above her mound.  She could feel the warm wetness and she reached down to touch it, but he slapped her hand away.  With the flat of his tongue he licked at the blood, tasting it and purring with satisfaction.  It wet his lips and when he looked up at her, he looked like a sinister harlequin with his painted mouth.

Valentine’s Day Madness! FOR ADULTS ONLY!!

Available 12/17 @ BN.com, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

Well, it’s that time of year again.  You know what I’m talkin’ about— Valentine’s Day!  That non-holiday created by greeting card and chocolate companies to sell us all more sentimental treats than we can possibly imagine.  And though it’s not my favorite holiday, I think the sentiment is in the right place.  You never know when you might lose someone, so it’s always a good idea to tell them now.  And it doesn’t have to be expensive, just from the heart.

In honor of the special day– and because I’d have to hang my head in disgrace as a romance writer if I didn’t do something special for Valentine’s Day– tomorrow (2/14) I’ll be posting some hot little Valentines for your reading pleasure.  Your mission:  give them a gander and leave a comment.  On Wednesday during Wicked Little Wednesday ( this week’s guest is Melissa Keir!!) I will announce the winner of a free copy of my hottest yarn to date, “Masquerade.”  Sounds like fun doesn’t it?!  But just to encourage you, here’s a little excerpt from “Masquerade.”  WARNING!!! NC-17 Content!

“Doesn’t it arouse you to think that some of them are watching you now,” he purred against her ear just as he slid the tip of a finger between the outer lips of her sex. “Each of them getting more turned on as they watch your body tense and hear your desperate whines.”

The sinuous digits delved deeper, collecting the slippery drops of fluid that clung to the tiny petals. He slid the pads of his fingertips around the opening of her sex, massaging gently until she was arching against him involuntarily. With an evil chuckle he pulled away, leaving her empty, her sex clutching for something to grasp hold of.

“You’re so sensitive.” He brought his fingers to his lips, licking one delicately as if catching a dribble of the finest champagne. “And delicious.” With an eyebrow cocked roguishly, he offered his fingertip to her mouth. At first she hesitated. “Don’t be afraid,” he teased, sliding it across her lips, wetting them with her own salty fluid. “Take a small taste.”

She flicked her tongue cautiously across her lips, unsure of what she would taste. It was bittersweet and wild, honeysuckle and smoke. The flavor was intoxicating and she found herself licking her lips. When he offered his hand to her again, she took two of his fingers into her mouth, lapping her tongue around them and suckling hungrily. He groaned, watching her as she took them in like a tiny cock.

“You have no idea what you’re doing to me, love. I knew when I saw you on the stairs that you were the only choice for me.”

“You chose me?” she asked, nuzzling her cheek against his hand.

“You seem surprised,” he said, teasing her lips with his thumb.

“I’m not usually the first choice,” she sighed, kissing the edge of his thumbnail. “For anything.”

Happy New Year!

Greetings, everyone!  I hope that your Holiday celebrations were wonderful and that Santa brought you all you were wishing for.  So now it’s time for the New Year’s celebrations to begin.  Time for us all to pause and count our blessings and make hopes for the year ahead.  Some of us are also in for a long weekend at home with those new Kindles, Nooks and Kobos we got for Christmas.  So I’ve decided to do a little post to tell you what I’m reading on my little holiday:

1.  Creek Walking by Tally Johnson:  Now this one is currently out of print, but I have high hopes that it’s going to be released in a revised edition very soon.  Creek is a book of mostly Southern Gothic short stories penned by Southern historian, Tally Johnson.  Up until last year, no one knew that Johnson could write prose, as his previous works were true ghost stories from South Carolina, but damn what a prose writer he is.  He has a truly amazing voice that comes shining through such wildly different characters– you seriously won’t believe that the same author wrote these stories.  For example, one story is a high Victorian piece written in proper British English circa 1860.  Another is a very Southern Gothic retelling of, I shit you not– Oedipus.  My personal favorite story is one called “Route 666.”  It incorporates ghosts and mythology in such a clever way.  It’s just so strange, I can’t help but love it.

2.  Bubbly by Anne Holly:  This book comes from one of my fellow Rebels and is a brand new Contemporary Erotic Romance for New Years.  Anne’s going to be here on The Southern Belle from Hell in the coming weeks to promo her book, but I just had to go ahead and buy it so I could read.  And it is burning up my Nook!!  It’s a story about a poor little rich girl who ends up getting all hot and heavy with a rough and tumble bartender.  Anne is a fantastic writer that creates deep characters with an intelligent and witty voice.  She also writes really hot sex.  And as you know, that’s really important.

3.  Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell:  I started reading this book just before Christmas.  I’ve been a fan of the movie for as long as I can remember, but I’d never read the book.  Ladies and gents… if you’re a romance writer– READ THIS BOOK!  All of those little archetypes that we cling to started in this book. Now, old Margaret was in desperate need of an editor.  The book tops out at 1400 pages.  But it’s like a blueprint for every romantic character you’d ever want.  And the story is just so engrossing and over the top.  I love it.

4.  11-22-63 by Stephen King:  I admit it… I’m a slut for a new Stephen King novel.  I’ve blogged before about my long romance with Stephen King’s prose.  If I was half the writer he is, I could die happily.  When I was a kid and read my first King novel, Carrie, I marveled at his ability to scare the shit out of me while still making it a great story.  As an adult, I can still appreciate the story, but I understand all the subtle nuances of each character.  How he ties the plotlines together.  Even if I don’t like the story, I’m constantly amazed by the writing ability that King demonstrates– even just in his notes about the stories.  As a writer, the one person I’d like to sit down and have dinner with is Stephen King.  This book, obviously about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, promises to deliver suspense and general creepiness.

So there’s my lineup of New Year’s reads to get me through the long, cold winter.  I dunno about you guys, but I always read more in the wintertime.  It helps to pass the time until spring.  So feel free to read some with me and comment back.  We can have our own little book group.

Available 12/17 @ BN.com, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

Of course, I wouldn’t be a proper author if I didn’t plug my own books for your winter reading.  My latest, “Masquerade,” makes a great quick read that will warm you up nicely.  It’s a hot and heavy story about a married woman who needs a little variety in her life.  The variety comes in the form of two seductive men who sweep her off her feet at a mysterious masquerade party.  I’ve been told it’s pretty hot, so why not give it a try on that new Kindle or Nook?  Then hop over here and tell me how you liked it.  I’d love to use your words to shamelessly promote myself!

Alexandra’s books are available through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, All Romance eBooks and Bookstrand.

SYS: Did I Mention…

Available 12/17 @ BN.com, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

that my new short, “Masquerade,” is currently out now?  You can buy it from Barnes and Noble, AllRomance eBooks, Bookstrand and of course Amazon.  It would make a great gift for all those pervs in your life that will be getting Kindle Fires for Christmas.  I you don’t believe me, you can always take Queen Tutt’s word for it…

“I loved the surprising ending and loved the smooth writing. I look forward to reading more from this author.”— Ronda Tutt, Queentutt’s World of Escapism

And she’s a queen.  So she should know.

But seriously, I loved writing this piece.  It came so easily to me and I hope that the smooth flow of the words comes through in the piece itself.  I think I mentioned earlier that this story is kind of personal for me, so I wanted to make it the best I could.

At any rate, I thought I’d end the blog hop entries with a couple of shout outs to some great friends in the writing world who have also released some fabulous work that would be great for curling up in a chair with your Kindle.

1.  Blood Doll by Siobhan Kinkade– Siobhan is my dearest friend and I got to see this short from the conception of the idea through the finished product.  It is definitely worth the $3.99.  Take a look at the BLURB:  Lana Roberts has come to Boston searching for her twin sister, Sarah. The last place Sarah was seen is an underground club called The Mausoleum. Not realizing what she has gotten herself into, Lana enters, only to find herself in the company of a seductively frightening vampire named Christian Sterling – the only creature in the place that wants to help her. But there’s one problem.  Lana is still human.  If she goes back into The Mausoleum, she’ll be killed, but Christian has a plan…if he can only convince her to go along with it. Can a pair of Halloween costumes, the sexy stranger she has found herself falling for, and a little bit of unorthodox behavior save the day? And just how long can Lana keep telling herself she doesn’t want him?

2.  Shattered by Cassandre Dayne– Another dear friend, Cassandre teaches me something about writing every time I read one of her stories.  They’re hot, but without sacrificing plot or romance.  You can tell that she’s passionate about her work and that makes her a great author.  Take a look– Movie star Hunter Reynolds knew a thing or two about the ladies but he didn’t crave them. Instead, he enjoyed the company of men and while he adored Taylor, his live in lover and best friend, they weren’t in love and Hunter refused to be seen in public with him. After all, Hunter’s fans believed he was straight. When he was brutally attacked, he was uncertain he would ever work in Hollywood again and his doctors weren’t sure they could repair the damage. Angry and bitter, Hunter pushed everyone out of his life including Taylor. Sadly, Hunter was merely the latest victim in a series of horrific crimes targeting gay entertainers. Macgyver Donovich was a reporter for the LA Times who’d written stories on each one of the victims and was anxious to talk with Hunter. From the moment he met the rough-hewn man who exuded sexuality along with chocking self loathing, MacGyver was fascinated. Determined to get to the bottom of the attacks, Mac wrote a series of edgy columns in an attempt to egg on the perpetrator. Entering into a pact to fight back, both Mac and Hunter realized it was only a matter of time before the assailant struck again. As they grew closer by their respective haunted pasts, a series of new threats were issued and both men were forced to confront their demons. As the race to find the attacker continued, Mac and Hunter finally discovered what they’d been missing in life–love. But was it simply too late?

3.  Paw Prints by Rebel Writers With a Cause — I was so pleased to be a part of this project, as I am an avid animal lover.  And no… that has nothing to do with shape-shifting.  Anyway, check this one out!  What happens when twenty five writers get together with a story idea geared toward helping better one small corner of the world? Meet Kylie Wright and Buster and find out this December in Paw Prints, a brand new story created by Rebel Writers with a Cause.  Buster was a bait dog, the kind used to teach others like him to fight to the death. Left for dead on the side of an empty country road, Kylie Wright finds him and sets into motion a whirlwind of events that offer both she and Buster a second chance at life. With his new master and a handsome vet tech, Jason, at his side, Buster might have just found his very own Shangri-La. That is if the people who abused him, the very same people threatening both Kylie and Jason, can be brought to justice. Will Buster finally have the life and family he deserves or will fate deliver each of them at the feet of the cruel men running the death pit?  Rebel Ink Press supports the mission of The Humane Society of the United States and a financial donation will be made to help support their cause. 4.  Three Fur All by Crymsyn Hart– Aah Crymmie.  Yet another of my writing partners.  This chick is so damn creative that she scares me sometimes.  Her newest release is by far one of the sexiest shape-shifter books I’ve ever seen.  It will probably burn up your eReader, but you’ll be begging for more.  Here’s the blurb:  October has escaped from her kidnappers only to run into the arms of two sexy men who help her recuperate. She finds herself falling for her handsome heroes.  Mika and Elliot know not to get involved with October because she’ll return home once she heals. As much as they fight their growing attraction, the more they desire her.  But there is also another who craves her. Her captors haven’t let her out of their sights and soon return for her. Together Mika and Elliot must risk everything to save the woman they love before everything explodes around them.

5.  Ghosts of the SC Upcountry and others by Talmadge Johnson– OK, this one is NOT a romance novel, boys n’ girls.  But it has a special place in my heart because it was written by my best friend in the entire world– Tally Johnson.  His folklore and history blends together so nicely in this non-fiction book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.  And the best part is– he’s got 2 others just like them for different parts of the state.  Read his blurb.  I defy you to NOT want to read this book.  With a history that stretches back to the earliest years of America, it comes as little surprise that the Upstate region of South Carolina is home to many ghosts and to hundreds of intriguing legends. In Ghosts of the South Carolina Upcountry, librarian and folklorist Tally Johnson introduces us to some of the area’s most colorful specters, from Major Ferguson, a British officer in the Revolutionary War who still haunts the grounds of his last battle at Kings Mountain, to the “Hound of Goshen,” a demon dog who has been chasing passersby in Union and Newberry Counties since the mid-nineteenth century. Among these stories Johnson weaves the local lore and history of thirteen upstate counties, drawing upon sources as varied as historic records, newspapers and personal interviews. Following Tally’s footsteps as he tours the Upcountry, the willing participant on this spooky journey can visit places like Foster’s Tavern in Spartanburg, where the sounds of ghostly piano music and horses trotting on the roof can be heard, and a bridge in Gaffney where the victim of a nearly forgotten serial killer continues to make her presence known today. While there are numerous books re-telling the same ghost stories of the Carolinas and even more focusing on the Lowcountry, very few tales from the Upcountry have ever been published. Even longtime residents familiar with the legends of this history-rich region will be thrilled—and certainly chilled—to discover that they have far stranger and spookier neighbors than they had ever imagined.

Alright folks.  That’s all she wrote for tonight.  Don’t forget to stay tuned tomorrow as I will be announcing the big winner of the copies of Hellsong and Second Skin.  And feel free to shoot me an email @ lexxx(dot)christian(at)gmail(dot)com and let me know how you liked the book. I’ll be glad to use your quotes to shamelessly promote myself!  Love you all and Happy Holidays!

SYS: An Interview with Blythe MacLachlan

Alright, you can tell that I’m a horrible blogger.  I always have a difficult time coming up with topics, so I’ve decided to take a friend’s advice and “interview” the heroine of my new short, “Masquerade.”  Perhaps a little corny, but what better way to get to know the naughty little vixen?

***********

Blythe McLachlan walks into the Starbucks looking like a bit like an unmade bed.  Her black hair is pulled back into a messy chignon, highlighting her delicate china doll features.  At first I am intimidated by the way she barrels through the door and up to the counter to order a Caffe Americano with one sugar, but I’m soon put at ease when she offers a wide smile and a hug rather than a cold handshake.

AC:  Blythe!  You look a bit rushed this morning.

BM:  I know right?  I was so afraid that I was going to be late.  I rushed out of the house without deodorant I think!

AC:  But the important thing is that you’re here.

BM:  I wouldn’t have missed it.  After all, it’s your fault anyway.
Blythe laughs and gives me a knowing look that leaves me no doubt as to what she’s been doing to cause her tardiness.

AC:  So I take it that you’re enjoying your newfound lifestyle?

BM:  Without a doubt.  In fact, I find myself wondering why I didn’t discover polyamory a long time ago.

AC:  So you consider yourself polyamorous? BM:  Most definitely.  Polyamory means having more than one intimate, loving relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of all parties.  Will, Lucien and I have a great relationship.  I don’t love either of them any more or less than the other.  We’re one anothers’ best friends.

AC:  So it isn’t just about the sex?

BM:  Well, I admit that I was initially attracted to Lucien for purely sexual reasons.  But over

time, our relationship has become so much more than just sex.  We love and support one another.

AC:  Isn’t there a problem with jealousy?

BM:  I’m sure that in the beginning Will had a few pangs, but once everyone realized that no one was going to be neglected, we were able to put the jealousy behind us.  Lucien doesn’t live with us, so Will and I still have somewhat of a “home turf advantage.”  I think that helps because Will knows that no matter what, I’m first and foremost his wife.

AC:  Do you think that Lucien gets jealous of that?

BM:  He’s mentioned us all moving in together a few times.  And I think I would like that, but I’m not sure that Will is ready for that strong of a commitment.  We haven’t come out as a poly triad to most of our friends, so I think he’s still a little skittish of that.  It’s that sweet Southern boy mentality.  Lucien, on the other hand, is a loudmouth Yankee and doesn’t give a shit about what other people think.  So Lucien may feel a little more jealous, but he understands that Will is my primary partner.

AC:  Am I allowed to ask about the sex?

BM:  You’re the author.  I think you can ask pretty much whatever the Hell you want.

AC:  (laughs)  Well I assume that Will and Lucien aren’t gay?

BM:  There might be two men in the world who are more self-conscious about being touched by another man, but they’d be hard to find  (laughing).  It’s kind of cute, really.  When we’re all in bed together, and we’re going to sleep, they actually map out where they’re going to put their hands to be sure that they aren’t going to accidentally fondle one another in the night.

AC:  There must be something comforting about lying between two men at night.

BM:  I highly recommend it to every woman.  You’ll never sleep better than you do with one man cuddling you from the front, breathing softly against your hair while the other one curls up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and letting you lean against his chest.  I used to get cold at night, but not anymore.  Lucien’s like having a bonfire in bed with you.  I always tease him that I could roast marshmallows on his ass.

AC:  One last thing.  I have to ask you about the double penetration thing.  Is it really possible?

BM:  I could never reveal all my secrets, Lexxx.
Blythe gives me a wink and a mischiveous little smile that tells me she won’t be revealing all her intimate details with me.  But then again, I’m the author and already know anyway.

SYS: Excerpt from “Masquerade”

Available 12/17 @ BN.com, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

Good morning, boys n’ girls!  It’s a glorious day and I feel the need to sing:

“Happy release day to me!  Happy release day to me!  Happy release day to mee-eeeeeee… Happy release day to me!

That’s right, today is the day that my very first release with Rebel Ink Press hits the eBook outlets. I’m more excited than a Pointer Sister at an all night disco.  “Masquerade” was really an experiment to start with.  I had the idea while on the road home from Louisville, KY last summer.  It just came upon me all at once like a nasty flu.  I wrote it in a couple of weeks– very unusual for a slow writer like me.  Let’s just say I was very inspired.  Anyway, take a look at the blurb and the excerpt to follow….

“What’s your fantasy?”

Blythe McLachlan had the perfect life until the night he said those three little words that could make or break a relationship. When Blythe tells her husband about her fantasy of a hot menage, he’s less than pleased. But when he drops her off at a mysterious masquerade ball, she finds that the boundaries of love can be crossed and rules are made to be broken.

EXCERPT:

Before she could think of another protest, he kissed her fully on the mouth.  Her instinct was to pull away, but he held her fast between his body and the wall, restricting her movements so that all she could do was writhe against him.  His lips caressed hers gently, nibbling first one then the other before teasing them open with the tip of his tongue.  To her great surprise, she relaxed and opened to him, then eagerly played along.  Her tongue swirled against his, tasting the subtle hints of alcohol and tobacco.  His flavor only excited her more and she shamelessly surrendered, rubbing her center against his hardened cock.  He broke the kiss, drawing a disappointed whimper from her throat.  She reached for him with her mouth, trying to find it in the darkness of their little corner.

“Patience is a virtue,” he whispered, pushing her backward with a gentle hand around her throat.  Instantly his lips kissed lightly across her collarbone, lingering in the tiny cup formed at its center.  Ever so softly he traveled down her front weaving a maze of burning kisses, then nudging the loose fabric encasing her breasts aside to kiss around the swells of each breast.

Her nipples were so sensitive that the smooth silk scraped against them like fine grained sandpaper.  It was almost painful until he freed them with a gentle tug then captured one of the swollen buds between his lips.  She moaned with the delicious agony as he suckled at first one and then the other, tugging the prickled flesh against his teeth.
