It’s Beach Season!

Aaaah…. the humid air of a Carolina spring.  The only difference between a Carolina spring and a Carolina summer is the rain.  It’s only mid-April and already the temperatures are climbing into the 90s!  That can only mean one thing– it’s time for the beach!  Long days of lounging on the sand, watching the waves and sipping a tall fruity drink  under a garishly colored umbrella.  Of course if you’re like me, you’ve always got a good book in your beach bag.  So seeing as how I never do much promotion, I thought I’d just give a run-down of my releases.  Just to give you some ideas for loading up your Kindle.  I promise they won’t disappoint!

Available NOW from Rebel Ink Press!

Beast of Burden:  Sascha has been a slave in the village of Kaspar for most of her life.  Unappreciated and alone, she lives out her days toiling away and putting up with constant torment.  When her kind master goes off to the marketplace in a neighboring town, he offers to bring her a gift.  All she asks is for a single, red rose.  Little does she know that the rose will cast her out into the service of the beastly Lord Marek.  Rumored to be a scarred and cruel man, Cianan Marek has been searching for a kindred soul.  His life as a warrior came to an abrupt end when he was attacked by werewolves in the Outlands.  Bitter and alone, he’s been hiding a terrible secret since returning to Kaspar as Lord Governor.  In this adult retelling of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, Sascha and Cianan learn the power of destiny and that some beasts lurk in the most unlikely of places.  This  one is my newest release and I must say— it’s a hot little number.

“Dollface”: “Dollface” is the story of Caroline, a plain Jane, small town Southern girl who just happens to be a funeral home cosmetian. Everyone in town likes Caroline, though they’ve always felt that there was something not quite right about her. For years Caroline has pined in silence for the funeral director’s son, Scott Bauer. Scott has always been kind, but never returned her affections. Her world comes tumbling down when she discovers that Scott is to be married and will leave her forever. She can’t let that happen and will go to unnatural lengths to keep him. The story has a bit of graphic violence and alludes somewhat to necrophilia, mostly in the style of Faulkner’s “A Rose for Emily.”  This one’s straight horror, so there’s no hot sex.  But the anti-heroine, Caroline, is genuinely creepy!

“Masquerade”:  “What’s your fantasy?”  Blythe McLachlan had the perfect life until the night he said those three little words that could make or break a relationship.  When Blythe tells her husband about her fantasy of a hot menage, he’s less than pleased.  But when he drops her off at a mysterious masquerade ball, she finds that the boundaries of love can be crossed and rules are made to be broken.  This short story has been described as a smouldering piece of Heaven that’s sure to fog up your iPad screen…

“Second Skin”:  When Catherine Spencer meets the seductive Jack Leannan at her company dinner party, she could never have imagined how fast she’d fall for him. He’s everything her husband isn’t—older, confident, and highly sexual. He lures her under his spell with promises of passion beyond her wildest dreams, and she finds herself ready to give up everything. But Jack is no ordinary lover, and the secret he harbors could destroy her.
Hellsong:  Can mercy be a sin? Lonely bookstore manager Theo Chandler lost herself in Hurricane Katrina. Found wandering alone in a swamp with no memory of her life before the storm, she has spent the last few years building a half-life where no one touches her so no one can guess her secret. Only Father Jerome, a voodoo priest who witnessed her birth, and the minions of Lucifer know her true identity and the monster she could become.
As the last of the Grigori, Heaven’s guardians of humankind on Earth, the angel Saraquel should destroy beautiful Theo before the forces of Hell use her to destroy him, humanity, or even Heaven itself. But like Jerome, he sees the humanity in her that far outshines the hidden demon. He forms a connection to her that he has never known with anyone else through all his immortal life. Choosing to protect her, he joins Theo and Jerome in a fight to bring down hell’s design and save her human soul.
Wow!  I can’t believe I have that many releases to shamelessly plug!  And coming soon, I’ll be releasing the first in a BRAND NEW SERIES!  I can’t say much about it just now, but it’s my first foray into the world of self-publishing.  I thought I’d give it a try and see what happens.  The idea is to release some “quickies” that will most likely be sold in the $0.99- $1.99 range.  Each story is an erotic paranormal romance that revolves around this strange little place called “The Oubliette.”  So be on the lookout for those!
Finally, I’d really like to thank all of you that have been my faithful readers both of my books and my blogs.  It feels so good to know that there are folks out there that appreciate what you do.  Thanks folks!!  I won’t forget you when I become rich and famous… hehe….

SYS: Did I Mention…

Available 12/17 @, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

that my new short, “Masquerade,” is currently out now?  You can buy it from Barnes and Noble, AllRomance eBooks, Bookstrand and of course Amazon.  It would make a great gift for all those pervs in your life that will be getting Kindle Fires for Christmas.  I you don’t believe me, you can always take Queen Tutt’s word for it…

“I loved the surprising ending and loved the smooth writing. I look forward to reading more from this author.”— Ronda Tutt, Queentutt’s World of Escapism

And she’s a queen.  So she should know.

But seriously, I loved writing this piece.  It came so easily to me and I hope that the smooth flow of the words comes through in the piece itself.  I think I mentioned earlier that this story is kind of personal for me, so I wanted to make it the best I could.

At any rate, I thought I’d end the blog hop entries with a couple of shout outs to some great friends in the writing world who have also released some fabulous work that would be great for curling up in a chair with your Kindle.

1.  Blood Doll by Siobhan Kinkade– Siobhan is my dearest friend and I got to see this short from the conception of the idea through the finished product.  It is definitely worth the $3.99.  Take a look at the BLURB:  Lana Roberts has come to Boston searching for her twin sister, Sarah. The last place Sarah was seen is an underground club called The Mausoleum. Not realizing what she has gotten herself into, Lana enters, only to find herself in the company of a seductively frightening vampire named Christian Sterling – the only creature in the place that wants to help her. But there’s one problem.  Lana is still human.  If she goes back into The Mausoleum, she’ll be killed, but Christian has a plan…if he can only convince her to go along with it. Can a pair of Halloween costumes, the sexy stranger she has found herself falling for, and a little bit of unorthodox behavior save the day? And just how long can Lana keep telling herself she doesn’t want him?

2.  Shattered by Cassandre Dayne– Another dear friend, Cassandre teaches me something about writing every time I read one of her stories.  They’re hot, but without sacrificing plot or romance.  You can tell that she’s passionate about her work and that makes her a great author.  Take a look– Movie star Hunter Reynolds knew a thing or two about the ladies but he didn’t crave them. Instead, he enjoyed the company of men and while he adored Taylor, his live in lover and best friend, they weren’t in love and Hunter refused to be seen in public with him. After all, Hunter’s fans believed he was straight. When he was brutally attacked, he was uncertain he would ever work in Hollywood again and his doctors weren’t sure they could repair the damage. Angry and bitter, Hunter pushed everyone out of his life including Taylor. Sadly, Hunter was merely the latest victim in a series of horrific crimes targeting gay entertainers. Macgyver Donovich was a reporter for the LA Times who’d written stories on each one of the victims and was anxious to talk with Hunter. From the moment he met the rough-hewn man who exuded sexuality along with chocking self loathing, MacGyver was fascinated. Determined to get to the bottom of the attacks, Mac wrote a series of edgy columns in an attempt to egg on the perpetrator. Entering into a pact to fight back, both Mac and Hunter realized it was only a matter of time before the assailant struck again. As they grew closer by their respective haunted pasts, a series of new threats were issued and both men were forced to confront their demons. As the race to find the attacker continued, Mac and Hunter finally discovered what they’d been missing in life–love. But was it simply too late?

3.  Paw Prints by Rebel Writers With a Cause — I was so pleased to be a part of this project, as I am an avid animal lover.  And no… that has nothing to do with shape-shifting.  Anyway, check this one out!  What happens when twenty five writers get together with a story idea geared toward helping better one small corner of the world? Meet Kylie Wright and Buster and find out this December in Paw Prints, a brand new story created by Rebel Writers with a Cause.  Buster was a bait dog, the kind used to teach others like him to fight to the death. Left for dead on the side of an empty country road, Kylie Wright finds him and sets into motion a whirlwind of events that offer both she and Buster a second chance at life. With his new master and a handsome vet tech, Jason, at his side, Buster might have just found his very own Shangri-La. That is if the people who abused him, the very same people threatening both Kylie and Jason, can be brought to justice. Will Buster finally have the life and family he deserves or will fate deliver each of them at the feet of the cruel men running the death pit?  Rebel Ink Press supports the mission of The Humane Society of the United States and a financial donation will be made to help support their cause. Your support of our project is greatly appreciated and it is our sincere hope you’ll help us spread the word regarding this worthwhile cause.

4.  Three Fur All by Crymsyn Hart– Aah Crymmie.  Yet another of my writing partners.  This chick is so damn creative that she scares me sometimes.  Her newest release is by far one of the sexiest shape-shifter books I’ve ever seen.  It will probably burn up your eReader, but you’ll be begging for more.  Here’s the blurb:  October has escaped from her kidnappers only to run into the arms of two sexy men who help her recuperate. She finds herself falling for her handsome heroes.  Mika and Elliot know not to get involved with October because she’ll return home once she heals. As much as they fight their growing attraction, the more they desire her.  But there is also another who craves her. Her captors haven’t let her out of their sights and soon return for her. Together Mika and Elliot must risk everything to save the woman they love before everything explodes around them.

5.  Ghosts of the SC Upcountry and others by Talmadge Johnson– OK, this one is NOT a romance novel, boys n’ girls.  But it has a special place in my heart because it was written by my best friend in the entire world– Tally Johnson.  His folklore and history blends together so nicely in this non-fiction book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.  And the best part is– he’s got 2 others just like them for different parts of the state.  Read his blurb.  I defy you to NOT want to read this book.  With a history that stretches back to the earliest years of America, it comes as little surprise that the Upstate region of South Carolina is home to many ghosts and to hundreds of intriguing legends. In Ghosts of the South Carolina Upcountry, librarian and folklorist Tally Johnson introduces us to some of the area’s most colorful specters, from Major Ferguson, a British officer in the Revolutionary War who still haunts the grounds of his last battle at Kings Mountain, to the “Hound of Goshen,” a demon dog who has been chasing passersby in Union and Newberry Counties since the mid-nineteenth century. Among these stories Johnson weaves the local lore and history of thirteen upstate counties, drawing upon sources as varied as historic records, newspapers and personal interviews. Following Tally’s footsteps as he tours the Upcountry, the willing participant on this spooky journey can visit places like Foster’s Tavern in Spartanburg, where the sounds of ghostly piano music and horses trotting on the roof can be heard, and a bridge in Gaffney where the victim of a nearly forgotten serial killer continues to make her presence known today. While there are numerous books re-telling the same ghost stories of the Carolinas and even more focusing on the Lowcountry, very few tales from the Upcountry have ever been published. Even longtime residents familiar with the legends of this history-rich region will be thrilled—and certainly chilled—to discover that they have far stranger and spookier neighbors than they had ever imagined.

Alright folks.  That’s all she wrote for tonight.  Don’t forget to stay tuned tomorrow as I will be announcing the big winner of the copies of Hellsong and Second Skin.  And feel free to shoot me an email @ lexxx(dot)christian(at)gmail(dot)com and let me know how you liked the book. I’ll be glad to use your quotes to shamelessly promote myself!  Love you all and Happy Holidays!

SYS: An Interview with Blythe MacLachlan

Alright, you can tell that I’m a horrible blogger.  I always have a difficult time coming up with topics, so I’ve decided to take a friend’s advice and “interview” the heroine of my new short, “Masquerade.”  Perhaps a little corny, but what better way to get to know the naughty little vixen?

Blythe McLachlan walks into the Starbucks looking like a bit like an unmade bed.  Her black hair is pulled back into a messy chignon, highlighting her delicate china doll features.  At first I am intimidated by the way she barrels through the door and up to the counter to order a Caffe Americano with one sugar, but I’m soon put at ease when she offers a wide smile and a hug rather than a cold handshake.

AC:  Blythe!  You look a bit rushed this morning.

BM:  I know right?  I was so afraid that I was going to be late.  I rushed out of the house without deodorant I think!

AC:  But the important thing is that you’re here.

BM:  I wouldn’t have missed it.  After all, it’s your fault anyway.
Blythe laughs and gives me a knowing look that leaves me no doubt as to what she’s been doing to cause her tardiness.

AC:  So I take it that you’re enjoying your newfound lifestyle?

BM:  Without a doubt.  In fact, I find myself wondering why I didn’t discover polyamory a long time ago.

AC:  So you consider yourself polyamorous? BM:  Most definitely.  Polyamory means having more than one intimate, loving relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of all parties.  Will, Lucien and I have a great relationship.  I don’t love either of them any more or less than the other.  We’re one anothers’ best friends.

AC:  So it isn’t just about the sex?

BM:  Well, I admit that I was initially attracted to Lucien for purely sexual reasons.  But over

Available 12/17 @, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

time, our relationship has become so much more than just sex.  We love and support one another.

AC:  Isn’t there a problem with jealousy?

BM:  I’m sure that in the beginning Will had a few pangs, but once everyone realized that no one was going to be neglected, we were able to put the jealousy behind us.  Lucien doesn’t live with us, so Will and I still have somewhat of a “home turf advantage.”  I think that helps because Will knows that no matter what, I’m first and foremost his wife.

AC:  Do you think that Lucien gets jealous of that?

BM:  He’s mentioned us all moving in together a few times.  And I think I would like that, but I’m not sure that Will is ready for that strong of a commitment.  We haven’t come out as a poly triad to most of our friends, so I think he’s still a little skittish of that.  It’s that sweet Southern boy mentality.  Lucien, on the other hand, is a loudmouth Yankee and doesn’t give a shit about what other people think.  So Lucien may feel a little more jealous, but he understands that Will is my primary partner.

AC:  Am I allowed to ask about the sex?

BM:  You’re the author.  I think you can ask pretty much whatever the Hell you want.

AC:  (laughs)  Well I assume that Will and Lucien aren’t gay?

BM:  There might be two men in the world who are more self-conscious about being touched by another man, but they’d be hard to find  (laughing).  It’s kind of cute, really.  When we’re all in bed together, and we’re going to sleep, they actually map out where they’re going to put their hands to be sure that they aren’t going to accidentally fondle one another in the night.

AC:  There must be something comforting about lying between two men at night.

BM:  I highly recommend it to every woman.  You’ll never sleep better than you do with one man cuddling you from the front, breathing softly against your hair while the other one curls up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and letting you lean against his chest.  I used to get cold at night, but not anymore.  Lucien’s like having a bonfire in bed with you.  I always tease him that I could roast marshmallows on his ass.

AC:  One last thing.  I have to ask you about the double penetration thing.  Is it really possible?

BM:  I could never reveal all my secrets, Lexxx.
Blythe gives me a wink and a mischiveous little smile that tells me she won’t be revealing all her intimate details with me.  But then again, I’m the author and already know anyway.

If you want to hear more interesting details about Blythe and her men, hop on over to, AllRomance eBooks, Amazon or Bookstrand and pick up a copy of “Masquerade,” available NOW from Rebel Ink Press.

Alright folks, you know the drill.  Leave me a comment along with your email addy and I’ll be choosing a lucky commenter to recieve copies of my previous releases– Hellsong and “Second Skin.”  One’s a hot novel about an angel and demon that have to save the world by NOT getting it on.  I know, sounds weird.  But it all works out in the end.  And the other is a sizzling short involving an older man that turns out to be more than he appears.  And don’t forget to go take a gander at the other participants in this month’s hop.  There are hundreds of  prizes to be won!

Presenting… Alexandra Christian

I thought I’d start this crazy blog party with a little introduction.  My name is Alexandra Christian, or Lexxx if you like (yes, those three Xs are on purpose), and it’s lovely to see you all today.  I’m an author of mostly paranormal erotic romance and horror.  In case you don’t know what that means, I write about not-so-nice girls getting it on with out of this world heroes.  Vampires, werewolves, selkies, angels and demons– and that’s just recently!  My first novel, Hellsong, was published just over a year ago with Sugar and Spice Press and ever since, I’ve been working my sweet Southern ass off to churn out as much sin and debauchery as I can.

A while ago, I christened myself The Southern Belle from Hell and I think it’s a title that suits me well.  I live in a small town in South Carolina– incidentally, it’s the same town I’ve lived in my entire life.  The rich Southern culture, fried foods and a healthy dose of superstition have colored my personality and my writing style. I have an extremely tolerant husband, also an author, who is the epitome of the Southern male with his buttery thick accent, laidback swagger and simple sweetness that makes women of all ages swoon.  Of course, how we ended up together is a miraculous wonder.  I’m a closeted goth schoolteacher and when we go out, he looks like my chaperone, but it works!

I think I’ve always been a writer.  As a child, my favorite thing was to create these intricate dramas for me and my friends to act out.  I was reknowned in my neighborhood for playing Pretend.  This led me early in life towards being an actress– which i pursued for quite some time.  And from time to time, I still long for the stage and make myself available to the local community theater.  In high school and college, I began to dabble in earnest with writing.  I joined some online writers’ groups and managed to meet two of my best friends in the world writing fan fiction.  Once I became addicted to the positive feedback, I decided that come Hell or Hiawatha (as my husband says), I was going to be a writer.  It also helped that I had my big sister, who at that time was in the midst of getting her own writing career started, harping on me to write something original.  I finally started taking her advice and a few years ago, I met author Dahlia Rose who encouraged me to try the eBook market.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

Now I know I said earlier that I was an author of PARANORMAL erotic romance.  So of course my next release has nothing to do with the paranormal.  Unless you count the number of orgasms… It’s a contemporary romance short from Rebel Ink Press entitled “Masquerade.”  Check out the blurb…

 “What’s your fantasy?”

Blythe McLachlan had the perfect life until the night he said those three little words that could make or break a relationship. When Blythe tells her husband about her fantasy of a hot menage, he’s less than pleased. But when he drops her off at a mysterious masquerade ball, she finds that the boundaries of love can be crossed and rules are made to be broken.

Don’t forget to leave a comment, as I will be choosing a lucky commentor to receive copies of my previous works, a novel Hellsong and a short story, “Second Skin.”

Thursday Night Naughtyness

So I realized I haven’t posted in a while, so I thought I’d give all of you a bit of a nudge before the real fun begins tomorrow.  Yes, ladies and germs, tomorrow heralds the beginning of the “Stuff Your Stockings” Blog Hop!  We’ve been waiting for a while and it’s finally here!  Kind of like Christmas…

This weekend is also very special because my newest work, a little thing I call “Masquerade” will be dropping into eBook dealers near you on Saturday morning (12/17).  This story is quite special for several reasons:

1.  It’s my first release with a new publisher, Rebel Ink Press.  I first heard about RIP last February when I met one of my writing sisters, Cassandre Dayne, at MystiCon.  She raved about them and after careful consideration, I decided I should trust them with my babies.  I figured, if they had taken such good care of Cass, whom I respect and admire so much, surely they would be a good fit for me.  And so far, so good.  We’re like a little family of writers and it’s awesome!

2.  It’s my first non-paranormal story.  Most of the time I stick to all things spooky and

Available 12/17 @, Bookstrand, and AllRomance eBooks

dark.  This story is dark, but not because there are vampires or werewolves lurking in the bushes.  It just came upon me suddenly, like a case of chills and fever.  My muse would not shut up, so I felt compelled to write it.  And so far, it’s working.

3.  The subject matter is a personal fantasy of mine.  I like to think that in my old age,  I’ve become pretty adventurous in many ways.  This story spoke to  my muse so freely, I think, because there’s a lot of myself in Blythe MacLachlan.

Alright, enough babbling.  I have to go get some blogs up for tomorrow’s blog hopping.  Be sure to come by and see all us authors on the “Stuff Your Stockings” trail.  We’ll be glad to see you and most of us have prizes up for grabs for all you lucky commentors.  I will be giving away a copy of my previous works:  a novel, Hellsong and a short, “Second Skin.”  And they’re really good, if I do say so myself….

“Masquerade” comes out on December 17th and can be purchased through Amazon, All Romance eBooks, Bookstrand, and Barnes and Noble.

Sunday Smut…

Available NOW at Amazon!

I realized today that I hadn’t posted in my blog in quite some time.  Those of you who know me, know that I am not the best blogger.  But I do try to make it up to you.  I’ve been in Starbucks today with Siobhan Kinkade and actually managed almost 2K.  However, I’ve come to the end of one scene and I have NO idea what to do next.  So I figured I’d better use my time wisely and come over here for some shameless PR.

This season looks to be interesting, as I will have a book coming out on Dec. 17th with Rebel Ink Press and I have lots of places I’ll be blogging.  So you’ll have just about enough of me, come December 18th.  Also, coming up in the winter, my novel, Beast of Burden, will be coming out.  It’s a very adult redux of Beauty and the Beast, starring a sexy werewolf named Marek and Sascha, a sassy little slave beauty.  I’m really excited about that novel, as it is the material representation of a year’s worth of work.  Anyway, I figure I’ll give out a little smutty love today, since it’s been so long, dear reader.  The excerpt I’ve chosen is from my first novel, Hellsong.  I thought it fitting, as for the Holiday Blog Hop (see the sidebar), I’ll be giving away a copy of that and a short story, “Second Skin” to fill your dirty little holiday stockings.  So look out for that, those of you who like all things free and freaky.

Anyway… here you go…

“Angel,” she whimpered, getting lost in the feel of his mouth traveling over the contours of her collarbone and shoulders. “Angel,” she repeated in a breathless whisper. “You must be…” She groaned, cradling his head against her chest. His hair slipped through her fingertips like late summer corn silk and she twisted the strands around her fingers.

Saraqael smiled in a way that conveyed utter relief as he fell to his knees before her. He rested his hands on either side of her waist, his thumbs digging into the fleshy hips, keeping her still above him. The sloppy, button down shirt she wore was open, showing a hint of the concave of her belly just over the waistband of her jeans. He used the tip of his nose to open the folds and press his lips to her skin. Her breath caught in her throat as she tried to stifle the moan when his tongue delved into the hollow of her navel suggestively. “Fallen?” she asked through clenched teeth.

“Not yet…but I‟m sure you‟ll work harder, Daemon. I used to be the Archangel Uriel,” he whispered, brushing his generous lips over the curves of her hips. “And when I was sent to Earth, I became the Grigori.” He watched her reactions, taking in each nuance as his fingertips trilled over her skin—higher and higher the crept. Her breath came in short gasps, her skin prickling at his touch. When his fingers reached the smooth satin of her bra, she felt a jolt of fire between her legs. And when his palm found the center, she feared that the flames would devour her.

“Perhaps it is you who is the demon,” she groaned.

He smiled and ran his hand over her sternum. “Perhaps I‟m seducing you for my own sport.”

“Not very angelic, Grigori.”

He did not respond, but straightened to his full kneeling height. With a careless gesture, he pulled the shirt open, letting the buttons fly carelessly. The cool night air from the window made goose bumps pop out all over, pulling her skin taut. Before she had time to complain about it, the warmth oozed over her body as his hands found their way under the satin barrier covering her breasts. His rough, calloused palm scratched against her nipple, making it harden immediately. She whimpered with the sudden heaviness and arched her body toward his.

Taking the hint, he pulled the fabric aside and closed his mouth over first one breast and then the other. The humidity of his lips made her throb in all the right places. Surely, he was not a being of Heaven. The pleasure he inflicted was more sinful than any act of violence. His fingers flicked over the tiny caps of nipple that answered each breast, worrying it to a small, prickled bud that he could bite and tease until she growled and pressed his mouth to her more forcefully. He obliged her, but quickly pulled his mouth away, taking the nipple between his teeth and pulling until she cried out.

BTW… you can buy Hellsong here.
