Mocked by Faith Blog Hop

OK… so I’m a little slow.  It’s taken me a while to get on this Blog Hop in a big way, but I promise I’ll make up for it.  The Gods of Google weren’t on my side.  Anyhow, I’m coming to you to talk a bit about a new author that I’m really excited about.  Michele Richard is the authoress of the Mocked Trilogy, a Christian Romance that follows the stories of characters who seem to be the butt of some cosmic joke at every turn.

No, you haven’t slipped into a coma.  This is yer old pal Lexxx, oversexed and underpaid, talking about a Christian Romance novel.  But it might please you all to know that even the Southern Belle from Hell has a strong faith herself.  Certainly in matters of the heart.  I’m a true romantic and believe that falling in love is the most divine of all human gifts.  And like a gift, love comes wrapped in all different sorts of packages.  Sometimes it’s a gift just for two.  A special connection held only between a man and woman.  Sometimes it’s a two men, passionate and completely in love.  There’s even the woman who finds herself in love with two men, feeling that sacred bond with both.  Love knows no boundaries and it is most certainly a test of faith to put your trust in another.

That’s what Michele’s book is all about and that’s what makes it great.  It’s a story of an arranged marriage that at first seems like a horrible idea, but in the end it might just be what our hero and heroine need.  It’s about putting your faith in love and a higher power to heal your soul and give you what you need.  For those of you out there who are looking for a sweet romance that you can lose yourself in, I recommend Mocked by Faith.

For Alexia Cross and Justin McNear, things are not what they seem. Both were born and raised in hidden, gated communities. A place where time virtually stands still and marriages are arranged by parents before a child’s 18th birthday. Alexia is destined to be her community’s first spinster as her 18th birthday approaches. In a last ditch effort, a husband is found. The only complication? He has no idea he has been betrothed. Will his history of dating outsiders help or hinder his relationship with his future wife? Justin McNear searched outside his church for the woman of his dreams. Returning home after failing, he knows he needs to rectify his life and his faith. Can a woman he’s never met make him whole again? Will this couple end up mocked by their own faith? Follow Alexia and Justin through the trials and tribulations of finding, falling, and surviving each other’s love. It’s never easy saying “I do” to someone you don’t know.

Asking Alexandra #2: Edward Cullen

Dear Alexandra,

I’m writing to you as a last resort.  If you can’t offer me some comfort, I’m going to walk out into the sun and end it all.  You see, I’m a vampire in distress and only you can help.  I’ve been seeing the same girl for several years and four movies and I think she’s become bored with our relationship.  Even though I’m a vampire that’s lived for centuries, I can fly, I’m filthy rich and have even gone so far as to give her the gift of immortality, she seems to want more.  It all started when she was asked to star in a vampire retelling of a fairy tale, directed by the foremost werewolf movie director in the country! I know, it sounds crazy.  Soon she was pal-ing around with this guy, coming in later and later smelling like a dog!  Some nights her coffin hadn’t even been slept in. Then a couple of weeks ago some pictures of her surfaced kissing this guy!  And not on the lips!

So I’m asking you, Alexandra– what should I do? She’s the love of my un-life and I don’t think I can go on being undead without her, but I’m not going to be made a fool of by a werewolf!

Unsparkly in Seattle

Dear Unsparkly,

I think you’ve forgotten the most basic and primal issue here– YOU’RE A FUCKING VAMPIRE!  If this chick is so keen on handing out BJs to lesser species, then let her go.  There’s plenty of other paranormal fish in the sea.  Not to mention soccer moms and horny teenagers.  And if you really need to make yourself feel better, embrace your inner monster and invite that bitch over for a STAKE dinner!
